it invites you into this cosy atmosphere and the lovable characters and you feel as if you are right there on the page. Legends and Lattes is a place I wanna visitīaldree’s writing is simple and evocative. the kiss scene and the picnic are my personal favourites. I loved the fact that you can see Tandri and Viv developing their feelings and their romance led to great bonding scenes, communication and cute moments. I loved the romance between Viv and Tandri, it was subtle and heartwarming, I loved their picnic in the park. Viv our lovable protag, is a gem of a character, I loved her determination and faith in her coffee shop dream, I loved watching Viv interacting with the residents of Thune as she worked towards her goal of a coffee shop.

I loved the twist ending of the Gem that Viv has, when that happened I laughed as it would have been a big story reveal in a campaign setting. You don’t need to know about D&D to enjoy this novel, however, I found myself smiling at references to the classes and story devices. I was wanting to read something about what happens after the epilogue- so when the blurb on this book came out and it was an orc barbarian finding a fulfilling life after the adventures over, I clicked the pre-order button so fast. This book has been talked about in many ways but the way that had most me intrigued was that it is a D&D slice of life novel and at the time that it was initially announced I had just finished my first-year long campaign, which ended with my character in her epilogue rebuilding her temple to her goodness and becoming a full-fledged priestess. To finally build something that will last, Viv will need some new partners and a different kind of resolve.Ī hot cup of fantasy slice-of-life with a dollop of romantic froth. Old frenemies and Thune’s shady underbelly may just upset her plans. However, her dreams of a fresh start pulling shots instead of swinging swords are hardly a sure bet. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and an unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen.
